As much as I REALLY like BTC, I must to say that Monero resonates more with me and my ideals.

What about you?

you should exchange all your bitcoin for monero
 Skin in the game
nah i dont care what you do with your money.
convert it all to fiat for all i care. thats even better than monero :)
This is the beauty of this: we don’t need to care about others people decisions and definitely not engaging in flames. What one makes with one’s strategy it’s only one business.
In any case I bet we all want to make our best move accordingly with our situation.
I agree. However it is usually the faceless, blank profiles that try to impose their preference for monero on others here and use personal insults as well. The insults dont bother me. The lack of IQ does.

You are clearly an exception, but its not a good look for the monero community. I mean who wants to be part of a gang of douchebags? lol
I guess it’s in our nature. Sometimes I can enjoy a bit of trolling too.
But this ain’t no religion or sect.
If we’re all so Austrians and anarchists here we shouldn’t care if somebody sin, say getting KYC btc. It is that person’s strategy and that person will pay or benefit from the consequences. Skin in the fucking game!
When they complain about the consequences here, is it better to remain silent or attempt to educate them?
I think the problem starts with the “educate them”.
First of all Read The Fuckin Manual. Luckily there’s tons of good information in many wonderful books very accessible, you can access to the source, read the white papers, read the code or talk to the coders. Also a great deal of podcast, videos or tutorials from credited people.
Then anyone should have his strategy: “what I want to achieve” so what tools I need and how.
Somebody might want to just speculate to multiply his investment and protect from inflation in order to say buy a house, that person definitely needs KYC or even ETF. Others might want to fund “activist” causes, so they might want monero and probably swap to btc for the liquidity or multiple reasons… You name it.

About the crybabies… fuck then! Do your crying at home and RTFM bitches!
It might make sense just to get some Monero in case it catches on. If enough people think the same way, that becomes a self fulfilling prophecy...
 Nah, I'm a "de-centralize" type of person!
Nothing is black and white, for me Monero is the only relevant Altcoin (as opposed to all the other shipcoins) BTC for store of value and unimportant transactions, Monero for private "cash-like" transactions, we just need a reliable swaps mechanism. Digital "Gold" and "silver", but the silver is more private 😅. I am aware of flaws in this idea but if we can figure out how to make it work with Monero as a "layer two" (yes I know that is spurious to say) I think it would be a bright future indeed.

Samurai guys where working on a reliable swaps mechanism before they got busted... coincidence?

For most of human history there has been more than one active natural currency, I don't believe Bitcoin will swallow everything, just all stores of value. There will always be other currencies. I still consider myself a Bitcoin Maxi as I dont hold Monero... but I have and would use it. "There is no second best! (Except maybe just a little bit Monero 😆)"

Come at me with your disagreements! 🤣 why am I wrong? What do I have right?

When I said unimportant transactions... I meant unimportant regarding privacy... if such a transaction exists 🤔
There is a GUI update to Bitcoin Core that would make the wallet a massive CoinJoin with everyone transacting on Bitcoin. You could use this to peg into the zcash sidechain, and have absolute privacy. Nobody would even know you WANT privacy. We will be getting this soon with CUSF.
This sounds very promising! Privacy by default is the only way to go! What is CUSF?
Indeed. It's not a zero sum game, you can have eggs multiple baskets. If you find utility on both, then you should use both.
 Perfectly said!

Another point besides privacy that I REALLY LIKE on Monero is the ASIC mining resistance.

Lot's of folks (me included) just don't have $$$ to buy and run ASIC to mine Bitcoin BUT I do have access to cheap CPU and GPUs what allows me to mine some Monero instead buying it.

But unless you live somewhere with very cheap electricity, is it actually worth mining? At least where I live electricity is too high to justify mining even Monero.
Man... Financially, most likely it doesn't.

But when you factor the "just leave it running" factor plus "I'm creating and sharing value without no one knowing about" points, IMHO, it becames really attractive.

Also, I found plain messy to have to buy BTC to then exchange by Monero... I'm a "Simple is Always Better" type of person and because my background I find it easier to just turn on some hardware, snap a Linux distro and leave the thing running you know?
You can buy XMR directly with fiat. @AgoraDesk or from the @cakewallet app among others
Thanks a lot for the pointers mate! Really appreciated! =))
Yes, it is an attractive idea! I bet it feels good to support the network. And if it's set and forget then why not 🤷🏻‍♂️😁
Exactly what i feel too. Bitcoin got taken over by a lot of "number go up" people who dont get that without privacy, you can not have freedom in a world where governments want to control everything.
Hiding in fear like rats under the floorboards is not freedom. Bitcoin is for dragging the regime out into the street and blasting it's head off with a shotgun so we never have to deal with it again.
if you are invisible, there is no need to hide. get a brain.
 Cool story
Becoming invisible in and of itself is hiding.
not when you are born invisible, then you just are.
Sure, is that why you are hiding behind a nym? 🤔

You don't fight toe to toe with a stronger enemy. You find asymmetric advantages. Guerilla fighters have known this forever.
Right now, privacy is very appealing. It definitely is a reason to be interested in Monero, for sure.

#monero #privacy
Privacy is what everybody needs when the government wants to control you like a jealous psychopath controls its partner. The VPN industry is a good example. 15 years ago, nobody cared about VPN. Now it is a extremely profitable multi billion dollar industry.

If you want to make a asymmetric bet now, get some Monero while everybody is circle jerking about lightning privacy while using custodial wallets.
I agree. But I'll add that most people don't need VPN. I suppose some ISPs can cause trouble if you torrent. Private crypto is a lot more viable because of tax.
I am an advocate for using the best tool for the job.
I don’t care what the tool is as long as it works properly.
