 @e7e6b122 i'm told it's because Americans simply learn that this is the taste of chocolate as children. feed it to kids and they will like it as adults. the puke taste has to do with the process they use to make it shelf stable.

like most american cuisine tbh. a lot of common stuff is really low quality and quite disgusting, bad for ur health, but your used to it so you like it

 @e7e6b122 it feels like there are two main recipes for milk chocolate.

one kind is like Milka or our domesitic Nidar brand.

the other is more like our Freia or Swedish Marabou or Finnish Fazer. i guess it's just how we make it the Nordic countries. maybe that flavour profile isn't found anywhere else?
