I have been working on an article for the last three weeks regarding the issues with the size and function of government.

"It is Time for the Libertarians to Step Up"

Terrific write-up. Love the direction you’ve begun to head in, as well as the grounded realism over fundamental idealism.
 🔥🔥🔥

Looking forward to the audio version with @TheGuySwann 😂

Can you point to a specific time when these ideas clicked? Or did it just happen gradually after so many discussions with Bitcoiners et al
No specific time. This is after 100's of interviews with libertarians, conservatives, progressives and trying to consider how you make things better.

I think Libertarians are morally right but their ideas don't seem to gain traction enough to make a difference. Mike Brock pointed me in the direction of Otto von Bismarck - “Politics is the art of the possible, the attainable — the art of the next best.” which was the basis of the argument I wanted to put together.
"we the people" want free stuff
I listened to your recent interview with him, but had to stop halfway through when he kept interrupting you with “f’ing this, f’ing that”.

I agree with the sentiment of the quote. But my sense was a lot of Mike’s arguments against libertarianism can be boiled down to “who will build the roads?”
I don't think those were his arguments, I think they were more left wing ideology and fear of a Trump administration.
There were sections where he was arguing against there being widespread corruption in govt, and against “draining the swamp”. I think he also directly critiqued libertarianism at some point.
Did my part and voted for the libertarian candidate this year. Your strategy to work within the system has been tried before inside the Republican Party. Establishment Republicans changed party rules after this happened. I liked your essay though. Totally agree with what you said.

Hell yeah brother, don't bend the knee to the Uniparty
 Never 🫡
honored to watch your evolution of thought from afar.
Let me guess.. you conclude that the state is too big and broken, right? Right?
No, I say that is a problem, I conclude that more Libertarians getting into politics and infecting parties with Libertarian ideas is what we need.
Gonna read it after work. But still it is too big and broken that's why we need libertarians to fix and shrink it,
Don't you think the main problem is that most people in well off nations want change without doing anything different?

Even if you had 100 live wires on the inside, a libertarian govt would still be looking at a nation where the vast majority would not react well to being told to go make a job.

Not saying it isn't a fine aim, but don't you remember how frustrated Maradona got when managing a team that literally couldn't do what he showed them over and over!
Sorry, I don't really understand the point you are making
Serious question: have you openly repented for pushing the clot shots? Haven’t really followed any of your stuff since you did.
Good article Peter! I agree, the solution is that more people who are passionate about fixing things should get involved and put ideas into action.
Very well written article. I believe sound money has to come first by the citizens using it and demanding it. Bitcoin obviously is the best money. There are too many incentives by the politicians to keep their power in order to benefit from the Cantillon effect. Second amendment is a touchy topic but it is a tool to secure one’s private property like bitcoin seed words.
Bitcoin is not the best money, as Roger Ver is a perfect example of. Monero has taken that spot.
Great article, but I definitely see a need for some people to just build outside the system and completely bypass their entire system entirely. It's hard to convince the slavemaster to set you free. But if you're willing to take the risk, you can become free by going on the Underground Railroad.
 I don't disagree
 Read it now.
I would strongly disagree on a "social contract". Here in German the exact wording is used in schools remind pupils, that there is a higher morality for all things to come.
And I would disagree in the word capitalism ("crony capitalism"). As our money is the opposite of a capitalist money. In fact its design is exactly the one that is described in Karl Marx "Communist Manifesto". So there is no capitalism. I would agree on crypto-communism.
And I think in the long term even minarist states would tend to become the same that we have now.

But I totally agree that we need libertarians in every field of governance and politics even though they probably would have to "soften" their agenda for a sustainable and slow change. People don't like to be pushed out of their comfort zone.
Great article, loved it. I agree that more results might be attainable by compromising just enough to have some chance of success.
