i was just remembering being so simple and happy, a pretty rock could capture my attention 

 watching a kid go through this fascination right now brings it back, pockets full of stones on every trip into the mountains and rivers

 I think I have my grandpas somewhere. Also have some of his stones too. I should look for it and see if it still works.

I was a nerd and loved reading and learning all sorts of stuff. I found a book on geology and was amazed at all the little details about different minerals. My parents thought I was into rocks when I was into dense information. So they bought me a rock collection and a rock tumbler and I'm sure other rock stuff I've forgotten about.
