 @2a70c54d My oldest son has been at his company for 21 years. The company is owned by one guy, Todd, and it is only one of a few in the industry. Todd hired my son when no one else, except fast food, would. My son was a 25 year old high school dropout with a GED. He was a single parent/sole caregiver of a 6 year & 2 year old looking at a grim future. Saying he owes his success, and that of his kids, to Todd, is not much of an overstatement. But there aren't that many "Todds" out there. 
 @246e513b I was going to say your story is an outlier, and while inspiring, it is completely divorced from the reality of the average worker
