I'm neither a prude or making a big deal of it, just have been in security since before Bill said https://www.theregister.com/2004/01/26/well_kill_spam_in_two/ so I know any immunity this protocol has today is a result of its small footprint.
If there are any good threads on bot / troll resistance please point me at them. It strikes me that a creation of a pub/priv key access to relays could pay some sats first time as a disincentive to floods of bots. (bitcoins invention was related to an PoW antispam technology called hashcash, so the similarities and potential is tantalizing).
