I enjoy having great intelligent conversations with them and no sexual involvement. 

 I believe this gets easier as you get older (maturity) and when you’re in a healthy relationship. 

Both age and marriage have drastically affected my ability to build platonic friendships with the opposite sex.

 Shared interest is key to long term relationships. Sexuality is just one possibility of many - arts, science, sports, nature, wellness, mindfulness, travel and other activities can be better together, as well.
I think, the secret of long term relationship is beeng a soulmate to your partner, meaning you prefer to do certain activities important  to your wellbeing together.
 

 Honestly? Shared life goals and morals. I have very little in common with regards to hobbies with my partner but we both want the same things in life and have a timeline in mind to achieve those things. 

Love and attraction will only get you so far in a relationship. For some people it might be enough but there will always be a tension or resentment if one of you doesn't get their way and feels they wasted their time on earth or wishes they'd achieved something different.

Having the same life goals and general morals is far more important than superficial things like hobbies.

 For starters, how about homemaking and raising the future of mankind. Women have a very important role in society/humanity, and the base is to care and raise young children to be compassionate, caring and to help establish a worldview. If a man is not interested in that than the man or society for that matter is pretty much not going to make it.
