The few expensive trophy hunts on ranches with white rhinos are what funds the anti poaching units for that ranch. Saying a hunt only benefits the outfitter is like saying going on a vacation to Vegas only benefits the hotel. Farmers, cooks, trackers, guides, etc. all work and make their living at these ranches. Without trophy hunting, the white rhino would have already gone extinct.

I literally knew people who trained the people who kill poachers of white rhinos, the only way to be more educated than speaking to the people who were there is to be there yourself. I have been to Africa, but had nothing to do with hunting there.
Apparently I have better googling skills than you. There are a few thousand. The 2 females are of a different subspecies from the others. This article literally says they’re dying because of poaching and are protected by armed guards. Like I said, trophy hunting is what pays for the armed guards.
