I’m not trying to be an asshole but I just saw a picture of a woman in a wheelchair that was born with some muscle disease that prevents her from walking. The condition looks similar to Stephen hawking. So she’s been disabled her entire life and she wrote in the caption that she never let the disability stop her from living life to the fullest. Yes it’s sad but I mean come on. You’re living your life to the fullest in a fucking wheel chair? You can’t swim, go on hikes, play sports, or play the most basic kids games like tag. Can’t drive or fucking grab the bag of chips off the top shelf. Why do people insist on sharing their delusions with others? If everyone around you agrees with your delusion, it doesn’t become reality. And why do people support this delusion?
That's harsh as fuck, but I really cant disagree. Its one thing to accept the condition and not it get ya down, but yea people seem to wanna make things like this into something others should strive for. It all began with the PC bullshit of saying 'handicapable' instead of 'handicapped'.
I mean, she's living HER life to ITS fullest. Maybe she's doing everything she can possibly manage in her chair.
Delusional from our point of view, yes. Not from hers. It's important to know our own limitations I guess
From my point of view, I can’t look down on people that are 6 foot 6. But hey I’m not going to let that bring me down. I’m going to live life to the fullest lol
What's the best for her though? For her mental state and general happiness/fulfillment. Better to make the most of her situation. Don't you agree?
That’s not what I’m saying at all. Make the most of your situation but don’t say that your situation has not limited the fullest life possible.
That's why I say it's a question of perspective. From hers, she's living life to the fullest. The fullest = what she can accomplish. If she always comes back to the fact that she can only do half what a person without disability can do, it won't change anything to her situation. Perhaps she'll be less happy. Better to live in her potential
I agree but that’s not what she was saying. Or maybe I misunderstood what she wrote. It’s kinda like how trans people say that they’re not going to let society stop them from living their life to the fullest. And instead of people saying there are only two genders, they end up saying you are whatever you feel like you are and no one should stop you from living life to the fullest.
Meh. I get your gist but use a better example. Can’t change something you’re born with. So it’s either kill yourself or live your own best life. A better example is Jamie Dimon. He’s fucking fully retarded & also short but still goes on smiling daily. Jim Cramer is another good one. He’s too short to reach the top shelf but won’t kill himself.
I’m not saying to change anything. I’m saying she literally can’t live life to the fullest. And that’s okay. I don’t get why we have to act like her life circumstances are not tragic. Your other examples are better though 😂
Just do your best. U never know. Check it out man. Dustin Hoffman, Rain Man, look retarded, act retarded, not retarded. Count toothpicks, cheat at cards. Autistic. Sure. Not retarded. You know, Tom Hanks, Forrest Gump. Slow, yes. Retarded, maybe. Braces on his legs. But he charmed the pants off Nixon and won a ping pong competition. That ain’t retarded. He was a goddamn war hero! You know any retarded war heroes?
you’re an asshole 🤝
It seems like it based on the responses I’m getting lmao some people have disabilities. They are not able to do the same things others can do. This prevents them from living life to the fullest. Idk why that’s upsetting for people to accept.
are you able to live life to the fullest?
I think Stephen Hawking made the most of his life despite his disabilities and despite people like you.
But could he live life to the fullest? Could he have the same life experiences that you and I can?
Why does the fullest life have to be the life you and I live? Fulfillment is in the eye of the beholder.
Making the most of your life and living to the fullest are two different things.
I guess we have different philosophies. If I woke up a quadriplegic I would think about how I can make the most of the life I was given. And live that life to the fullest.
I think you have a different interpretation of what living life to the fullest means. To me, living life to the fullest means that you have all of the experiences that most humans typically want (e.g. fall in love, start a family, travel). You can say that you won’t let that disability stop you from trying, but that doesn’t mean that you can have those same experiences. It doesn’t mean that someone is going to fall in love with you and that you’ll be able to start a family. Making the most out of your life makes more sense to me.
You have a privileged take on living life to the fullest.
Yes I am lucky but idk how that’s relevant. If I became crippled tomorrow, would you tell me that I can still live my life to the fullest?
The fullest things in life aren’t physical.
This is a retarded rant. Let the person fucking live you degenerate. Pedo Allah forbid you become crippled.
I didn’t realize I was preventing her from living thanks for the advice. If I become crippled I’ll post about how being crippled is a strength and doesn’t limit my life.
You’re so retarded this is your takeaway? How about don’t be a judgmental prick when someone is doing the best to live. Piece of shit.
Suck my dick cunt lmao
Fuck you asshole
basically shes correct you have no idea what other people are going through or what their experience of life is. having a nasty judgmental takeaway just outs you as a small nasty man.
💯
pretty sure he's got me muted so it doesn't matter what I say 😅
Yeah, he’s a whingy retard. Fuck em
How are you living your life? Have you climbed the highest mountains on every comtenent? Have you created a billion dollar business? Have you cured cancer? Why should anyone believe you are living your life to the fullest and put up with your dilusions, pathetic man?
george carlin turned this thought into one of the best comedy specials ever made. You are right. You will not be liked for it. Ayn Rand wasn't liked for saying this either, but its true... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1HD8KXn-kI
