@73b17510 I always smile really big and say thank you when people say stuff like this to me, it really throws them off. The last time it happened the guy just kind of sputtered and stuttered because he didn’t know what to say, he didn’t want to openly admit he was accusing me of lying. After watching him flail about for a few seconds I wanted the uncomfortable encounter to end so I simply said “Thankfully I don’t look as bad as I feel I couldn’t really handle that.”

I realize folks are awkward, and don't know what to say, but "You don't look sick" is pretty ridiculous! 🙄 

I hope folks will boost this. Help educate folks so they'll stop saying it so much!

Folks with disabling chronic illnesses often mask symptoms while doing errands. And folks see us only when we're well enough to leave the house.
