One if the best ways to spend your Bitcoin is silent.link - global eSIM No KYC, affordable rates, data-only option, instant Lightning top ups of even just a few cents, always there when you need it. Not affiliated, it just saved my ass many times. Thank me later.

I still often wonder why this company is allowed to exist. Sounds too good to be true. I assume that the big boys just assume that literally everyone will eventually make a mistake and doxx themselves, so they are fine to let people use this service.
Can you explain what it does for me, I'm always on the lookout for obtaining kyc free SATs especially if its a no hassle
Nvmnd I was regarded for a moment lol
Love the service, but rates are high. Maybe KYC-free data is the true price of data, just like KYC-free sats represent the true price of bitcoin.
Do you know cheaper eSIM that works in all (most) countried, charge per kb and credit never expire? Even paid in fiat and with KYC, I never found better, either you must pay for a package that you never fully use and stay valid a few days (1, 15 or 30 days usually) or your credit/eSIM expired after 6 or 12 months without using it.
I use mobimatter, keepgo and bitrefill. None of them do KYC, all can be bought anonymously with some cryptocurrency. mobimatter and keepgo are valid for a year without a top up, but you can top up with 3$ at least in keepgo to keep it alive for another year. I just buy 50GB of data and when it expires, I but a new esim. Also, the price is around 1/3rd of silent link last time I checked. I am glad that all options (including silent link) exist. KYCed sims are just for normies.
Any recommendation for virtual number? I already have two sims in phone, so I would need other solution then sim.
Jmp.chat is a non kyc VoIP number provider with a Foss companion app (cheogram) for android. You can pay with bitcoin
Those are great recs, Im going to check them out. Send over a referral link if you'd like. Do you have a VoIP service you like to go along with these for legacy calls/SMS?
I use Skype over VPN, but I have a specific requirement for the number, so you probably have more options. I have referral for Bitrefill: https://www.bitrefill.com/signup/?code=XZzReVuE For others I use throwaway accounts per esim.
Any good recommendation for a SMS relay solution, e.g. for those 2FA SMS that are tied to linked phone number? (e.g. banks). basically want to leave a legacy phone with the physical SIM in a fixed location (office etc) but still be able to access the SMS it receives
My sim is hosted in a commercial GSM gateway by 2N. but there's autosms or you can use gnokii based scripts to relay to SimpleX with raspberry pi and GSM shield. just make sure that 2G network works and won't be discontinued soon.
🙏
Adding crypton.sh to the list of options, for reference. Had bookmarked them ages ago, but somehow forgotten
One can also use sms4sats. Not an e-sim but it's cheap and it can help with registrartion on sites that want your phone number.
Running silent.link on 4 phones. The ability to switch to a provider with service in the current area is powerful. We were able to switch over and have data during the AT&T outage, for example. nostr:nevent1qqs2klzvp3h0w44wpet6kkt0mzzjpshem437nyn2cuxdq6aljlsl2fgpr4mhxue69uhkummnw3ezucnfw33k76twv4ezuum0vd5kzmp0qgs9pk20ctv9srrg9vr354p03v0rrgsqkpggh2u45va77zz4mu5p6ccrqsqqqqqpg8qlfg
No KYC is only for data if you want a number you need to KYC.
Are you sure? It says "Zero KYC policy" on the bottom. @calle 👁️⚡👁️ can you confirm?
I’ve used their data only service for two years and love it but was under the impression from when I started that you needed to supply KYC for a GSM/voice line? I could be wrong happy to be corrected. Great news if there’s zero KYC!!
Didn't the devs of Calyx OS have something like this.
They sell an overpriced "privacy" hotspot, it's technically a donation so they don't pay tax.
I can't say enough good things about silent.link I have it on my secondary phone and spend in the single dollars per month for data at no obligation. It made me realize how much we get ripped off by the domestic telcos. nostr:nevent1qqs2klzvp3h0w44wpet6kkt0mzzjpshem437nyn2cuxdq6aljlsl2fgpz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduhsygzsm98u9kzcp35zkpc62shck8335gqtq5yt4w26xwl0pp2a72qavvpsgqqqqqqsveh8fd

I am a little bit at a loss. I just purchased the $9 plan. And scanned the qr code. And this is the message I am getting. I am not sure how to proceed. Help! https://image.nostr.build/55e37e674317b5defdaf376594722d10f2e6b2ff398273979c518fa768e798f5.jpg
Ipa=iphone app
I am on a Android device with graphene os.
Cool that url is still for an iphone app so it's not gunna work on an android. See if they have an .apk
Hmm... I didn't read anywhere that it was os specific. That's a bummer if so. I am flying out in a few hours and need to sleep. Sadly might have to up for the kyc data plan this time and get a refund from silent.link at this time.
Good luck I hope you can find a solution. Sleep well
LPA = local profile assistant. Standard part of an eSIM code.
https://grapheneos.org/usage#esim-support if enabled the normal way would be to go to settings > internet & network > SIM then add a SIM by scanning a QR code
Yay! Awesome. Thank you! So grateful for your support and assistance. This worked. Will turn on sim once I lose my service and land in Europe. You are the best! 🙏🏻😊
Thank you! I didn’t know this one 🙏
I've been using MobiMatter for a while, great deals, inexpensive, global packages, payments with lightning and no KYC. Highly recommended.
@Thisispaulsworld - data only…. Get on it!
