@2ee95d3f makes me think of the Glastonbury Thorn. The Tory council in Plymouth felled trees in the city centre under darkness so the public couldn’t stop them. Sheffield council felled many of their trees too. A standing stone nearby was deliberately dug out and set alight (I question the intelligence of these people who think they can set a stone on fire). Considering how the govt does everything it can NOT to promote nature and protect the environment, it doesn’t surprise me.
@c09f86d3 This just makes me so angry. Stuff happens where I live too.
@2ee95d3f I remember when I was involved in reintroducing the endangered water vole back in Cornwall. All the landowners knew best managing practices to help them thrive. Then the council went and ignored this by cutting back all the vegetation on the ditches and riverbanks in one area, effectively destroying their habitat. All that effort! Luckily, the population recovered, but it took time. People are too stupid too often.
