I don’t think people need to conceptualist a service to use it. (I doubt most of the new blue sky sign ups actually understand it, for example.) People switch from windows to apple all the time and those are far different. I don’t see a damus sign up as any more different from a twitter sign up than a tiktok or instagram sign up is 🤷🏻
You are not wrong, but a more accurate analogy is like switching from Windows/Mac to Ubuntu.
I don't see it difficult either. I think it's the simplest process ever. what comes after the signup is the unclear part.

Ah yeah, for sure. Just talking about the initial steps. I think relays should just be hidden and let them learn about account migration on their own when they need to 😂

That's onboarding, creating a key pair is not onboarding.
all the people I helped joined nostr created a key pair and never posted a single note. lol
