#Nostr would do extremely well if the self-sovereign identity thing was positioned better. That's the best part. Use one identity for multiple apps - blogging, pinstr, fundraising etc and you could get zapped everywhere It has to be an ecosystem and not a random, one-off replacement to Twitter nostr:nevent1qqsfua4te2zyd98valwej8uuy4ux2tzamnenpnz9nhgz8j6hdq2r7qgpr9mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuumwdae8gtnnda3kjctv9upzqx78pgq53vlnzmdr8l3u38eru0n3438lnxqz0mr39wg9e5j0dfq3qvzqqqqqqyhfktyj
Agreed. Also wonder if it would pick up quicker if it were video first like all other socials
That's one aspect What's key is that it's Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube all rolled into one, self-sovereign identity, and all zappable The #bitcoin aspect is HUGE
That realization was what turned on the light for me in January of this year. I’d been on nostr before but didn’t really “get it”
It's simple! There's no "account" and you're accessing everything
Needs positive messaging such as social app protocol, portability, owning identity and data.
Do you think normies care about these things? 🤔
They care about privacy
I don’t think any of those things sell. I always said nostr wins when we have great apps that solve problems or fulfill one of many needs people currently use other apps to fulfill. All those other things are nice extras - though super important.
Ditto. Normies don't care about those things Personally, I like the fact that there is account-less access to problem-solving apps
What do you mean by "positioned better"? What could be changed?
Positioning is a marketing concept which suggests how you position your product relative to the competition Just calling #Nostr a protocol, not platform and censorship-resistant is NOT enough No one gives a fekk
My main advertising slogan for Nostr is "No Algorithms, No Corporations, No Advertising". What I'm seeing a lot of people asking for is private groups, where an admin/moderator controls who sees the feed, and they don't have to worry about the whole world watching. Having the entire planet on a level playing field seems very strange to new people, and it is hard to get used to the idea.
