Hey Matt. I read your issue. I think it's now a moot point because you can choose your draft relay. For example, I choose my local relay. But more importantly, it doesn't matter to me where my drafts go, because they're all encrypted. I prefer them to go local, but because of privacy of encrypted text, because I use it as an offline composer. But thankfully we choices, right? If you don't like how drafts work, you can use an app that doesn't even have drafts on mobile, such as Primal.
I think a lot of people miss my actual point. I left it in detail on the GitHub issue if you care. My issue is that they snuck it in BEFORE I had a choice and didn't tell me it was happening. I lost trust for the developers. Yes, I can go use a different app but I was committed to that app and team. I supported them. I also included suggestions for how to change the culture and update model such that users aren't violated by "features." I have no issue with drafts. I have an issue with saving them and broadcasting them without user knowledge and consent. Yes, the technical issue was LATER addressed, but the misalignment in ethics is what bothers me. They shouldn't have implemented it in that way and not seeing an issue and publicly committing to not doing it again is what bothers me. I love Amethyst otherwise and wish I could trust them again.
So no, I don't think my point is moot and the fact that others do saddens me. It's an ethics problem, not a technical one.
