Love it that this stuff is in rust
does #pubky just do dns or does it provide some equivalent of TLS capability on a tcp connection?
It probably can do noise protocol. I mean, private keys are all the same with most algorithms, only the 4ubkey is different. Probably can use these keys with TLS easy enough.
i hope this becomes part of the specs, i cant get excited about just DNS.. i want SSL certificates ded.
I am working on and off on using Pkarr with Rustls. But that only works outside browsers (until we lobby them to add it to browsers for months/years)
Would it be possible to change DNS servers in chrome? Or use a proxy like privoxy?
I think you will need DoH, and pkdns doesn't have that yet. You will have a better time switching your OS DNS servers.
I use Mullvad VPN, mobile and OS and there I can set a custom DNS server. Just added the IP of the pkdns server and voila, works like a charm.

Also works with Proton VPN.
Ah interesting... I wish Warp allowed that. Will try it.
Yes, but with my Qubes-OS system I have problems.

At some point I wrote manual configs, I have to straighten that out again so that all App-VMs can also resolve.
Happy that you are enthusiastic about this 🙏
yeah, TLS certs are such a racket

Thank you for doing this. It's a big deal for the internet.
