It's certainly a striking photo. Maybe an extremely hot fire due to duff buildup as a result of fire suppression for many years? This may be followed by topsoil loss from erosion when it rains.

 @b6ed0f0c Thanks! It’s certainly possible. I’m not even sure which fire this was from because we have had so many in the last few years.
