What Nostr offers feels like something it will take people longer to understand. Maybe many never do? Doesn’t particularly bother me tbh. A lot of people want a safe internet experience, that’s reasonable, considering how online abuse affects certain groups of people. Nostr is more archaic and personally I like that.
I feel the same way. X is to Windows as Nostr is to Linux. BlueSky is MacOs in this analogy I guess.
Fair, I’ve rarely used Eindows, much like I never got into Twitter. I’ve been slowly weaning myself of Mac OS although professionally it’s hard to get off Mac OS. Most the stuff I use day to day still isn’t Linux compatible.
I'm OS agnostic, with a Linux preference. I've used them all, they all have issues, just pick the issues you are comfortable with 😂 Most people won't know about Nostr, just like they don't know about TCP/IP. To them it will just be an app, and the backend will be Nostr. How many people don't know Linux exists, but use software running on it every day? Most people using the internet I imagine.

I appreciate that. Personally I think it’s odd lots of left leaning folks moving to a heavily VC funded corporate entity. What I like about the Fediverse is the ability to spin up a server using cheap, second hand equipment and build a community. Nostr takes it one step further in that you don’t need to buy equipment to set something up. That’s a pretty chill vibe if you ask me. I was listening to a podcast yesterday on a major left wing platform, and academic complaining about how they were stuck on some evil corporate platform. If I had any hair left I would’ve torn it out at that point! Be the change you want to see.
Everyone tends to like large corporations, so long as the management is on the same political side.
To me they seem to strip the soul out of humanity… It’s funny, so people feel most politically aligned with the VCs Multicoin? Interesting.
The left has always liked big corporations, they just want to take them over and run them for the good of humanity.
