We have never been a moral and religious people.  That is a myth that slavery mocked, the slaughter of the Civil War mocked, that the subjugation and police state of Jim Crow made laughable.  The immorality that half the population had zero rights until Suffrage made clear.  That embrace of the narcissistic criminal who breaks all of the Ten Commandments, Donald Trump, by evangelicals makes laughably clear today.

We are not a particularly moral people and never have been.  Our only religion is wealth.  

This country has always been on the verge of flying apart.  The only progress we’ve made is thanks to the gradual  expansion of the franchise and subsequent participation in addressing grievances to government.

So, I don’t agree with your thesis or your solution.  I never will.  We need to invest in what we have, not make a colossal mistake of ending our imperfect democratic republic.

 You’re for a frigging monarchy, so that makes you an advocate for intrusive government. 

 Luxembourg. Monarchy isn’t always intrusive. Also pretty much anything would be better than the fascist socialism that currently exists in Canada and the USA.
