@175cd6f6 y'all need to stop suggesting more books... I have to live to be 200 to read what's on my list now! 😜
@08a7d7ab I've only been able to make time by being much more critical of what television series I indulge in. For every new show I try out, I weigh it against "would I rather give this or the next book on my stack 12 hours of my attention?" Let's be honest, a lot of shows out there are Cs or C pluses at best with respect to writing and acting. I no longer give those my time because it robs me from doing all these other things I love.
@08a7d7ab I should also clarify that I give books the same critical eye. There are just too many *excellent* books out there I haven't read, in particular major works of literature, to give poorly-written pulp too much time. When I start reading something and it's not well written (for fiction) or interesting (non-fiction) I set it aside. The interesting thing is, when you spend most of your time reading/watching well-written stuff, the average stuff bothers you.
