Good morning. My lost cat is back home. She disappeared almost 2 weeks ago (I let her go outside to be a cat). Simply vanished. Turns out, the people who live 3 houses down found her in their yard, took her to a vet and then boarded her in a kennel so they could go on their honeymoon. So, to sum up: some people see a cat, take her, imprison her for over a week (at their considerable expense) and figure out it was a neighbor's cat. This is pure shitcoin attitude.
My old neighbor got pissed when my cat would leave dead mice at her door. Come to find out she would let my cat in and feed her milk. I said she's just paying you back. Lol
tourists do this on the rez all the time they steal other people's dogs to "save" them
Found my dog on a rez and everyone kept looking at me like I was nuts for going around asking “Hey is this your puppy?” Later found out they have a massive wild dog problem. People just kept telling me to take her. 🤷🏼♀️ Still looked for a human she belonged to or even a mama dog and other puppies.
If it was abandoned, then I’d say finders keepers?
This is wild, glad you have it back.
I'm curious, did the cat have a tag or was it chipped identifying it ? Absent of any evidence to the contrary I can see how they might think its a stray. I get that it worried you but did they have a means to reach you to advise you they found it?
Cat's are almost impossible to collar when they don't want to be and she get's chipped soon. If a cat is outside and it's really friendly then it's not feral and the assumption should be that it belongs to someone. I was able to connect with them thru a facebook lost and found for the city.
Maybe I'm naïve but I have found random animals wandering, including a mother cat with new kittens that got into my yard. Neither the mother nor the kittens had any tags (we check for rfid chips too) so we got them rehomed. If there is a collar/tag and a means to reunite them with their original homes I'd jump at the chance.
If they thought the vet was expensive, wait until they see the bill for your pain and suffering! 😉
Nah. I’m just glad I got her back. This is the only time I’ve lost a pet for this long and found it again.
Glad to hear she’s back. My cat just went missing Tuesday and he’s never been gone this long before. I let him out every day and he usually comes back at night but idk where he’s at. How did you find out it was with a neighbor?

You got any pics of said cat?
neighbours stealing kitties is a thing we had this gorgeous almost green eyed russian kitten boy for a while, and then he had a serious accident, maybe fell on some broken glass or got bit by a big dog, and then some weeks later disappeared, but we were pretty sure he ended up about 5 doors down some neighbour took him but part of the story was, we think that his daddy prowled the area where we were (well, duh, that's how he got born from our housecat) and he just didn't want to live around there anymore russian blue cats are extremely aggressive and bold makes them lots of fun but not for their kitten boys
So sorry to hear. I love Russian Blues.
yeah little putsi... the signs were there... sometimes suddenly he'd come bolting into the lab and jump up on the desk and hide behind the computers there was a very mean big boy cat outside who terrorised him, he probably literally ran away to get away from that tom cat
Do i ever have a story for you. Basically same story, but he took our carry and vaxxed/ chipped it. Cat came back after a month three days ago. He is demanding $500 or he said they'll take us to court and have the cops come remove the cat. This is next level 'crazy cat' guy. He had painted black finger nails :) i think I'll just ignore him and see what happens
What a dick

My cat Opie rest her soul use to hang out in a tree outside our house in Sydney. One day I got a call from my step Dad in New Zealand as the microchip was to his email I was told Opie was at the local vet. I went to collect her and got bad vibes as Opie is very feral, I rescued her in Chch NZ she was living under an old house with numerous other cats I use to feed and looked after her Mum cat I caught Opie and when I moved to Sydney she came over with me. Ive always let her be pretty feral as that’s her nature she was wild when I got her. Anyways the vet and vet nurses gave me looks of disdain for Opies appearance I was very stoned at the time and not really into the harsh judgement and said it wasn’t my fault she was catnapped I didn’t even say thanks I said people should leave be before they make assumptions.
Glad your cat is safely home
Thank you. So is our dog. He was depressed more than I was.
