Self sovereignty needs also simplicity to be implemented.
A simple way to run your own node, your own relay etc etc.. and an easy way to create and implement a network of them.
The easiest will be to run your relay and connect to as many as you want without being overwhelmed by too much data and stressing bandwidth (I am not technical enough to see all the problems and issues should be solved to achieve it), the better.. and the stronger the protocol will get.
As was for #bitcoin in its first years, #nostr needs to grow steonger and on a bigger base to become more resilient and embrace more people and ideas that will help in its natural and organic evolution and expansion..
#growNostr
Exactly
The simpler it is to run a node, the more people will do it
Indeed!
#YESTR
What about making a #nostr relay app for ubuntu packaged in .deb?
With a nice GUI, so no command line needed
No dedicated servers, unless it would affect speed..?
Anyone could run it on an old computer/raspberry pi
Where the host himself can decide how much hard drive space he wants to allocate for storing posts?
Kind of like a #Bitcoin Core app, except it’s a #nostr relay app on linux/ubuntu
I thought I commented on your note.. but I didn't. 🥲

You can run a nostr relay on #umbrel running on a raspberry pi
