I’ll never understand some conspiracy theorists about some of the things they try to claim 😂😂😂 https://i.nostr.build/l3M0WPeMi1NfOTs5.jpg
They also have an elaborate and complex scheme to load commercial airliners with chemicals that they spray over the populace (including themselves and their families) for some nefarious reason.
Totally! With zero leaks of the information 😂😂😂
Exactly. Cause those airline maintenance dudes are CIA operatives... Or something?
This is the exact reason I can’t get on board with most conspiracies. Thousands of people involved and not one gets drunk and spills the beans? Not likely
This will imply extremely well organized and well ran organization, which is not what any government agency is or can be 😂
If a tree falls in a forest, does it really make a sound?

If beans are spilled in a suburban loungeroom, is a conspiracy really revealed to the world?

"Fake Moon Landing" and "Fake Climate Change" are implausible because they are so high-profile, public and trans-national, and "Chemtrails" because burning jet fuel in air is so violently destructive of chemistry.

None of those are implausible purely on the scale required.

- Katyn Forest was real.
- Treblinka was real.
- Nuclear Winter was not real.
- Eating carrots does not help you see at night (but it was a good cover for the deployment of radar).
Because water molecule crystallization is made up science!

Science: consensus on tested outcomes
Critic: but consensus implies not testing for yourself!

🤦‍♂️
Would you agree that perhaps the federal gov may be the incompetent puppets being puppateered by an unelected cabal?
That may as well be the case, but I am talking about consistencies like “moon landing faked”, “flat earth”, “chem trails”, etc
 *conspiracies
Oh ok, the meme reads like you couldn’t possibly believe that a govt would deceive its own nation.
Politics as a science is all about deception and control of large populations 🫡
 You just described government 🫡
I am well aware of that. But don’t give too much credibility to all politicians, most of them suck at it 😂
I’m not. I’m giving credit to the “Federal Reserve” and whatever other shadowy orgs that control said politicians
I think there are elements of truth in some conspiracy theories but some people take them to the extreme.
No doubt, I am talking of the big ones here, e.g., climate change, moon landing, etc
Even climate change is an interesting one. While I don’t completely deny that it is a real thing, I think there are still certain aspects that aren’t as well understood as they could be, and there are a lot of deliberately alarmist predictions that won’t come true but make for good stories for the media to publish. Also I think some of the government policies supposedly for “climate change” are in part being driven by other agendas as well.
I am not talking about the media, they make headlines sexy to attract readers. 🫡
Of course, but some sort of media is where most people get their information from. So you either end up with people following the mainstream narrative and thinking we are all going to die by 2030 if they don’t go out now and buy an electric car or those who have seen something on alternative media or an influencer on X and they think it is all a hoax and we need to burn more coal for cheaper power. There is very little balanced discussion about it and most people aren’t going to go back to read scientific publications, consider new information and think logically..
McKinsey and the Larry's underestimated the extent to which politicians can fuck plans up.
Remember, the most dangerous lies are those that make you flee. A lot of conspiracies are not spread by coincidence but to make the fearful flee and comply
Well, Devil's Advocate, but I know a conspiracy that involved over 700 people that I've never read a word published about in the five decades since it happened.

On the second day of the Battle of Coral-Balmoral, 1 RAR mutinied and threatened to kill its Commanding Officer. The resulting stand-off lasted an hour, and ended with the CO surrendering the desperately-scarce barbed wire he'd ordered used to defend the LZ he'd planned to escape via, so that the troops could instead use it to reinforce the perimeter. He also agreed to leave Vietnam and let his 2IC take over, which he duly did.

Army being Army, that guy then received a promotion, a medal, and a coveted do-nothing posting to Sandhurst on exchange.

But he never again commanded troops in the field.

Nobody was punished for the mutiny, not even the junior officers who'd instigated it. One of them eventually became deputy Prime Minister for a time.

Nobody talked to the press. Nobody bragged in public. A (now deceased) family member used to talk about it to teenage me, but only when he was too drunk to get out of his chair.

Conspiracies happen.

And large groups of people /can/ keep a secret if nobody is trying too hard to uncover it.
This is not the scale I am talking about, much bigger than your example 🫂🫡
I know the conspiracy theories you're teasing :D

But at the same time, real conspiracies are real, and can involve hundreds of people.
 Totally, and I don’t doubt them 🫡
what is the scale you have in mind?
I figured it would be clear from the text in the meme 🫡
 it wasnt

but since you're clueless let me just tell you that governments aren't just one thing, they are composed of many subgroups and it's perfectly possible to see the who as incompetent while a small group inside capable of a conspiracy
You triggered a few with this one 😂

 That was the intention 😂😂😂IDGAF
it would be stupid to believe there are no conspiracies, but also stupid to believe everything is a conspiracy.

To be fair, they are done sloppily enough that conspiracy theorists can piece together the lie. Some of the things we know are true would be much better covered up by a private actor. Imagine all the things corps get away with that we never find out about. We don't know all the conspiracies that they executed and hid competently.
There's no such thing as a government, it's an abstraction. There are just people. Some are very smart, some are very dumb. All act in their own self-interest.
You and alot of people make the mistake of believing disasters within a government is unavoidable. They plot their schemes and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't which in retrospect is obvious why it didn't work. The schemes are always a power grab of some sort they will get away with what they can.
