 I personally agree, but this post is really directed at the people who post zap memes/content for engagement yet hardly ever use them.

I thought I made that clear enough by even writing an exception statement, but I guess not given some of the responses already. 

 It's generous of you to make exception for people who are addicted to the dopamine hits that legacy social media have conditioned them to feel they need. Likes are relics of ad-driven, centralized, algorithmic social media platforms. They communicate nothing of actual value. Turn them off in your nostr client's UI and it will completely change your social experience.

 On iOS you can turn them off in Damus and Nostur. Snort web client also. Not sure about Android. 

 I don’t see the point of a like button in nostr. 

 There is none. If your client allows you to turn them off I encourage you to do so.
