The solution is to poison people while they're young so only stronger old people exist

Also boomers sucked the world dry and are complaining about the fact that it's dry until the bitter end. 

 The world changes much quicker now compared to the past, thanks to instantaneous media access, and children's socialization being completely altered now that most are given unrestricted internet access from a young age. 
Now, most elderly have very little wisdom that is accurate or relevant. It's nice to hear stories about your grandpa recalling how he 'courted' his wife, but that reality, the country that existed for him in 1935 is dead and buried, for decades now.
