 So, after how long do you consider it OK to exchange your Bitcoin for other value?

 For other value anytime you want. I just don’t consider fiat as a meaningful value for long term usage. 
I understand the use of fiat as a medium of exchange in period shorter than a month and only in case you are not able to use bitcoin.
