new ๐ค or old - it is always important to ask ๐ค questions. ๐ as they say ๐ verify don't trust. particularly ๐ with something ๐ new. learning how something works and why is part of the process. in time ๐ the ๐ฅ questions ๐ will change as understanding improves. for me it ๐ค is question ๐ messaging and ๐ actions. currently the ๐ messaging ๐ค doesn't match the actions. ๐ the talk ๐ of ossification ๐ reinforces this. money go up was not the purpose of ๐ btc. it's value ๐ is ๐ค as ๐ฏ peer to peer medium of exchange ( ๐ no middle men). as the network grows ๐ so will ๐ the ๐ฏ value. ๐ฅ storing btc and stagnating the network with coins that don't move .... is like ๐ค having a ๐ฏ computer ๐ that is slower than your brain. ๐ zero value. or ๐ cold storage with 0s and 1s. if the reason the ๐ btc network is stagnating is the size of the blocks restricting the number of transactions, ๐ why not ๐ฏ increase the block size? node ownership? ๐ is ๐ฅ that ๐ really an argument? we ๐ have no idea how credit cards work but thousands use them. privacy? chainanalysis would appear to undo that argument. ๐ฏ supporting the network? really? domestic tinkerers ๐ vs network trained staff across ๐ฅ thousands ๐ of businesses ๐ worldwide? the network will survive and ๐ thrive with usage of network with spv as ๐ designed. think email. ๐ฅ block size was unlimited by ๐ design. the restriction was an early stage protection against denial ๐ of service ๐ 'dos' attack on an ๐ infant network. that needs ๐ seems considerably ๐ reduced ๐ judging by network size today. so why do ๐ฏ we still need small blocks? lightning network ๐ - redesigning the wheel. spv already serves that need. ๐ bitcoin ๐ cash still ๐ uses it. looking to the ๐ฏ future and big fees, slow transactions on-chain - what happens when millions ๐ฏ of lightning users need to ๐ do on-chain transactions too? ๐ pay the ransom or bottleneck? as i said - message and actions. they don't marry. we ๐ are all being told a million ๐ reasons, that it is essential to run ๐ small blocks but nobody is asking ๐ the ๐ question ๐ why? The btc design allows for unlimited ๐ฅ blocks - why not let the free market decide ๐ค what size blocks are ๐ฅ best? ignoring market needs is ๐ never good ๐ for a business. it ๐ is not ๐ค boding well ๐ฏ for btc either despite ๐ฏ all the hype and ๐ money go up. seems a ๐ reasonable question? ๐ฅ let's have a discussion on block sizes and get some real ๐ feedback on big vs small and let ๐ the chips lay where they land. should btc ๐ค return to being an moe, i suspect the true value ๐ will return. here's ๐ฏ hoping. ๐ฅ GM ๐
