Read his word, especially the psalms and the gospel of John; pray, sing robust hymns with and to one another; read/study the Heidelberg catechism together; be with other believers as much as you can; look for ways to serve others who are also hurting; attentively attend corporate worship and the 'ordinary means of grace'; 'lean in and lean on the flock of God' heart goes out to you both 🫂🙏 #prayerchain

I'm not being cheap, but, is the catechism available online, you think? I'm having to try do some things in hiding. I work at a place where I don't have any privacy during my short breaks. I am having to do some stuff when I'm by myself, in between walk-ins. 🤦‍♀️

I'm sorry for your suffering. I've found that focusing on knowing God and who He is and His plan for eternity helps. When we are worrying about what is right for us and what we should do, we are focusing selfishly. It isn't till we are 100% focused on God and until we really understand what an awesome, creator God we serve that our own lives and the direction for them falls in place. It is a little like a person who desperately wants a spouse and is searching frantically. They will never find the right one. When they give up searching for someone to make them complete, suddenly that right person enters their life unexpected. Focus on God first and everything else you need falls into place. Understand that praying won’t change a thing or god. The only thing that will help change is you to shift your mindset and make things happen for yourselves. Sorry yall are struggling, it’s part of life, it’s how you come out on the other end is what matters.

I think one thing that helped me get "unstuck" was doing an assessment at my church of my spiritual gifts (they have these online also). Once I knew that my gifts were centered around discipleship and kids, I found my purpose in middle school ministry. Often times, our best selves come after a time of struggle and self doubt.. I hope you and your husband find your peace and calling.
