Social media nearly killed the art of writing and curation, but Nostr is reviving it.
it makes me think of a useful archival/GC policy to add to a realy also - one that avoids deleting long form events that might otherwise fall into the prune bucket... as it is, they naturally also compress better because a single text tends to have a lot of recurring unusual long words in it, and from author style phrases and constructions, so they can probably compress very well, and a well designed compression scheme could really save a lot of space to store a lot of this kind of content
Nostr is a way bigger gamechanger for Curation than for Creation btw.
Don't think so. Both - writing and curation - have always been vivid and prospering on networks such as Diaspora* or the long-text part of the #Fediverse ; only drawback being the niche character of these networks. But maybe this is not so much due to social network killing off these "use cases" but actually mainstream social networks managing to get into a "market" segment where people hardly care about either of the two.😕
Facts, and I expected the opposite.
