There is a reason why the US is still the number 1 immigrant destination, with as many problems as we have. The American dream is still alive, but less obtainable. Social mobility still exists like no where else in the world

There is a reason why companies like Google, Facebook, Apple, nvidia, Amazon, etc were founded in the US and not the socialist hellscape that is Europe. Let them do their thing and get out of the way

My grandpa, God bless his soul, when I decided to make a career out of hockey, tried to convince me to get a government job, because of the job security that comes with it. He was an immigrant who left Italy to start a new life in Canada, after WW2. He didn't speak the language, didn't know anyone and came with nothing. He made a living from working construction jobs. I find it kinda weird that his advise for me was so risk adverse, especially since I was 18 at the time. Who the fuck wants to play it safe at that age?
A friend bought a decent townhouse in San Jose last year for $1.4M. The mortgage, property tax, and homeowners insurance on it with a $280k down payment is $9k a month. Have to earn $200k after taxes just to pay the mortgage. The European mind cannot comprehend this either.
There is a reason why real estate is cheaper in Europe. Local incomes support it. I see more Americans buying up property there in the future and further pissing them off.
