The corporate press has been a horrible propaganda machine for decades. X had an opportunity to replace them by incentivizing powerful and factual journalism. They didn’t, because they needed to become profitable quickly. The current form of the 5th estate journalism on X is almost worse than the corporate press. The influencers primarily get their information from the corporate press and feed it back to the public. It’s a nasty game of propaganda telephone. 

Journalists on nostr can take days, months, weeks and years to work on a story and the algorithm won’t publish them. They can fund this work directly through zaps and be seen by their followers when they return. They can publish without gatekeepers like the corporate press or corporate tech algorithms.  X is worse than the press for sure. If a journalist lies there’s legal implications. Anyone can chat shit of X (especially the owner) without consequence.
I’m of the mind the only solution is to short Elno’s website and long the free and open internet. If it takes others years to catch up it’s on them. 

 That's assuming nostr won't have algos. I assume we'll have algo clients eventually.  

 Side note: community notes are great. That’s a benefit of X and it will get better.
