 Rant:

My long term disability rep contacts me every 3 weeks. It’s been 3.5 years, bud, I’m *still* not magically cured. Back off. Let me breathe.

It’s so annoying, and frankly distressing, how disabled people are given payments to live on (well below the poverty line) and then followed like a hawk. Imho, it’s unethical. If the federal government has deemed me fully disabled - pay me and leave me the heck alone.

These people cause me immense stress.

@d6c53e4a Three weeks?! Wow, I'm so sorry. This should be, at the most, once a year for long term disability. That's absolutely awful.

(I also really wish the payments were higher)

Holy cow. As a fellow member of the disabled community, I have to say that sounds annoying as heck. I've been on Disability for going on 10 years now and the most I've ever had to do is an occasional form that I have to fill out with my doctor that says, "Yes, the patient is still disabled."

I couldn't imagine how infuriating it would be to have someone breathing down my neck every three weeks. "Y'cured yet?" Get. Out.

All my empathy and patience for you! :blobcatpat2:
@d6c53e4a To be honest, I'm so glad that for the next five years the state is paying someone to deal with that crap for me. Someone saying that people on disability or even just unemployment are just lazy have never had to deal with the hoops they make us jump through. 😒 That's some workout, baby.
 TW: abuse, harassmen

Edit: I had to check my sent mail folder and in fact, this latest request to ‘talk on the phone’ is 7 days after my last *very* detailed medical update which he emailed back and said was fine.

Seven days.

Seven days?!!

I cannot handle this anymore. It’s like living with an abuser. I’ve been there, done that, got the t-shirt, no thank you…
