 God does put blockers in our way to protect us at times. That, however, does not mean that following Him and His Will is going to be easy. 

On the contrary, being a Christian and following His Will is difficult. 

Sometimes, the devil/demons will make things easy for you (to sin, for example) and makes it difficult to follow Christ. God allows this to help us learn to struggle for Him. A willingness to struggle for Him shows true faith.
