Empathy is not a zero sum game. Our hearts are big enough to encompass the suffering of the captives, the families in mourning & the innocents in Israel & Gaza. It’s not either-or. #israel #Gaza
“the neurologist wouldn’t even give her the name of the medication he referenced because, Rule said, “he was so determined to protect a hypothetical fetus”. HYPOTHETICAL FETUS. Rule was denied treatment for her debilitating headaches because it might harm her HYPOTHETICAL FETUS. This is crazy.

LETTER
Tonight, as you walk out
into the stars, or the forest, or the city, look up
as you must have looked before love came, before love went, before ash was ash.
Look at them: the city's mists, the winters.
And the moon's glass you must have held once in the beginning.
That new moon
you must have touched once in the waters, saying change me, change me, change me. All I want is to be more of what I am.

@6b43cb18 is it in Schumer’s hands? I don’t know enough about the rules however it sure seems to me that he should be able to stop this. And so, why isn’t he?
I don’t understand how it is possible for one off-the-wall senator to hold up military promotions. I just don’t get it. (PS the GOP has lost the right to ever declare they support the military) #Tuberville
NEXT WEEK! Our High Holy Day Gatherings are ReImagined, creative, poetic & non-traditional. I warmly invite you to join us for a soulful, contemplative deep dive into the profound themes of these holy days.
On Rosh Hashanah (NEXT WEEK!) we proclaim that “today the world is born” (HaYom Harat Olam) which can also be translated as “Today the world is pregnant with possibility.”
This is the theme of our Rosh Hashanah Gathering on Saturday September 16.

Tonight is my mom’s 3rd yahrzeit. I miss her every day & think of her with joy & all the love she put out into the world. She was a simple person, kind & generous. To me, the best mother I could have ever imagined. May Marlene Marks Kornick be forever a blessing & may we learn how to live in the spirit of love & kindness & forgiveness she so readily gave.

1/This year, we are doing something different for our High Holy Day Gatherings online.
We are calling it High Holy Days ReImagined.
It's been a really rough bunch of years. My sense is that many of us are exhausted, looking for comfort, and that less is more.
To be honest, I'm feeling the same way, which is why I meditated on what form of gathering for the High Holy Days felt right this year.
The insight that kept coming to me was: simply do what you love, do it simply without the traps of expectations, and speak to the heart. (Cont’d) #HighHolyDays #Mazeldon #judaism #roshhashanah
