@5f9bb1a8 I'm glad that I left when I did, maybe two years ago, I don't recall having an interest in stats, I simply (stupidly) allowed myself to be sucked into time-wasting negativity.

It was a pastime. The end.

The end for me, but it'll probably be endless for some people, probably including (real-life) friends, and realistically, a fediverse will not appeal to them.
 Steps to reproduce:

1. refrain from clicking
2. point
3. observe medium.com
4. right-click, copy
5. Control-T
6. Control-L
7. web.archive.org/web/0/
8. Control-V

Are symptoms reproducible, or is it just me?

A cut too far: The people who can't give up paper - BBC Future

https://www.bbc.com/future/article/20230922-why-we-may-never-give-up-paper-entirely

> The world's gone digital and yet many professions and industries still rely on paper every day. When will they scrunch up and toss away the last page? …

My marriages to paper, and to handheld currency, began in childhood. We three recently celebrated our golden wedding anniversary.

Adult flings with an iPad and a ZBook are productive, but somehow less satisfying than Oliver and Underwood. These flings will never lead to divorce.

– no exaggeration.

Re: <https://support.mozilla.org/kb/profiling-thunderbird-performance> I spent a few minutes profiling, with a 60 ms interval, whilst waiting for the app to begin responding to a change of theme (to Dark). It's now capturing the profile, if the capture succeeds I'll add to BMO. In the meantime, I have the search below as my default, and I'm following some existing reports.

Dear Git, my mind has gone blank. Again.

https://github.com/grahamperrin/freebsd-doc/tree/patch-7 my fork cannot be synced,

"… You can resolve merge conflicts using the command line and a text editor."

So, I have a checkout of patch-7, but how can I get (diff3) conflict markers to appear somewhere?

@5f9bb1a8 @0e1b5160 I never use bash, https://old.reddit.com/comments/ozxqkg/-/h84lbvi/ probably explains why I still prefer tcsh and csh on #FreeBSD.

https://scriptingosx.com/2019/06/moving-to-zsh/ might be of interest.
 I rebooted myself!

https://wiki.freebsd.org/GrahamPerrin#alum includes a shortlist of revised focus areas.

Can anyone help with the Unicode input regression?
