The Future of Decentralized Web. Some high level notes from @jack and @ODELL conversation at #nostriga.
1️⃣ It's very important that decentralized systems like Nostr and Bitcoin provide resilient alternatives to centralized models.
2️⃣ Nostr’s open, permissionless architecture stands out as a future-proof platform, enabling innovation without central control.
3️⃣ Looking Ahead: Despite current challenges, there's confidence that Nostr can surpass traditional platforms in utility and user freedom, thanks to ongoing community-driven development.

If you missed the past #nostriga event, you can find Jack's and Odell's chat in youtube (link below). I will be posting a summary in short for those interested.

It’s been a couple of days in #nostr, newcomer. Gotta say it’s been quite an eye opening experience of what the future might look like. Zaps change completely the experience. My second note was zapped by @jack and since then I haven’t stopped zappin’
Happy zapping everyone
This video puts into question NVIDIA's growth. It argues NVIDIA is funding their own clients to purchase from itself. A very dangerous practice when mixed with hype.

It’s a way to tip in the platform. You have to setup a wallet and once that’s done you can “zap” any note you find useful and people can give you a tip / zap as well anytime. It’s built in Lightning and have the currency used to tip it’s bitcoin. Typically people tip between 21 and 60 satoshis ($0,1 to $0,3) per zap.
Same journey 😂
I must say that I received one zap worth 100x. So it really depends on who’s zapping you and how much have they decided to use as the regular tip for a note.
Tricky. I don’t see how you would fix it. You would need anonymous posting, problem would be distribution as followers are per identity. You would need other types of distribution with similar reach for anonymous accounts (e.g. hashtags on steroids)
I drank too much coffee today
On Damus:
1) Click on your profile image
2) Open Settings
3) Go to Keys
4) Copy the Secret Account Login Key
Open Primal, if you have an account already setup
1) Click on your profile image
2) Hit the circle with the three dots to the right of your profile picture
3) Click in "Add an existing account"
4) Paste the Secret Account Login Key (should start with nsec)
No, but you’re very close to one. In primal on the lower menu there’s a round button with a thunder icon, follow the setup instructions and you should be set
It's based on relays, and probably there's (or can be) some influence at the client level. Your client (Primal, Damus, etc) connects to the relays that are listed in your profile, the client requests the notes from the relays and orders the information by the time it was posted.
When you post a note, the client signs it and sends it to all the relays listed in the profile.
afaik
