looks like google's AI search is going great!! these "AI" products always produce hilarious results when they hit the actual public. since there's really no way to do thorough QA testing with an LLM product, every GenAI product release is in beta.
Sci-Fi movie director: In my film, I created a post-apocalyptic wasteland devoid of hope and ruled by fascist shock troopers as a cautionary tale.
Billionaires: At long last, we have created the post-apocalyptic wasteland devoid of hope and ruled by fascist shock troopers from the classic sci-fi movie “Don’t Create This Apocalyptic Wasteland”
my wife’s therapist was shocked that she personally knew several people who have committed suicide, because I guess that’s really unusual in Spain?? or they still don’t talk about it.
(pst, Trump doesn't give a shit about abortion one way or another and will be fine with whatever the GOP courts or Congress decide to do while he's in power. he genuinely does not think about this stuff, ever. he's in steak/Bible/golden sneakers-selling mode on this issue, it goes right out of his head as soon as the camera is turned off.)
@9cbde81a oh buddy you gotta watch “I Think You Should Leave” on Netflix. at first you will fucking HATE it, and then it will capture your entire brain.
there's more videos like this on their YouTube channel, and here's the product intro video they put on X. if this is real, i am genuinely and truly not sure why anyone would hire junior devs in the future. i actually just want to walk into the woods and never come back. https://twitter.com/cognition_labs/status/1767548763134964000
this guy uses an "AI software engineer" named "Devin" (honestly, accurate) to code a new feature in a piece of open source software. the "AI software engineer" has its own shell, browser, and dev environment. it makes choices about which development tools to use, and searches for answers online when it gets stuck.
my brain says "don't worry, this may still just be a puppet show to grift investors" but my heart says "you're fucked, quit now." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vk3s5JlyHfU

i think it's super-cool that the Democrats doubled-down on funding cops and sending bombs to Israel, i'm sure that helped a lot.
the most annoying thing about talking with conservatives is they all trot out the same anecdotal reactionary talking points as if these are brilliant ideas no one has ever thought of before.
love the Bob's Burgers episode where a bunch of cyclists show up and all order like three burgers each. one of them says "we rode 60 miles today!" and Bob says "well, it's great to be young" and the guy is like "i'm 52."
@81a354c5 i am just finishing up the intermediate Code Academy course on Python and i did **not** like it. managed to learn a lot, but in spite of the course, not because of it. hoping i can start some projects and get into more depth with other resources.
oooof, tried that famous Harvard intro to CS course, fucking **overproduced** my god, calm down buddy, we are all just grinding to get some knowledge so we can find a job, not everyone is a 19-year-old from a wealthy family who needs a youth pastor to walk them through what a logic gate is.

@b59c91f9 i kind of wonder if it ended up on that site because they hired an SEO company to scrape the web for popular geology articles to put on its own URL and well.
@1c5d9b71 maybe? I think it’s just the load balancing issues that we knew would crop up as renewables spread. kinda good problem to have (although still a problem)
