I am very happy to see this place, but it got me thinking. Actually, the place was cool but what really is making me smile today is the people that #support me. When I propose a crazy plan, it's the people that eagerly encourage me and humour my often random spontaneity. Smiles all round today!

 This week's #FolkloreThursday tale is called "Scrapyard Shangri-La" 🌳🚗

It is a #story of rusty #oldtimers left in the forest wilderness of Sweden.

This was once a #scrapyard owned by two brothers, who lived in a small house nearby. When most of Europe switched to right-hand drive in 1967, cars were brought here by the hundreds.

The business closed in the 1980s. The #cargraveyard was originally three times the size of what you can see today, but still hundreds of #abandoned cars remain.

 #imnotsayingimoldbut I used to visit this theme park when it was open! When I used to visit in the late 90s and earliest 2000s  there were different rides. The big rollercoaster was totally different when I was a kid, I never got to ride this big one!

It closed down in 2012, and I visited in 2015 to take these photos. #FunFact these are my first #abandonedplace photos as well 🖤

 Exploring #abandonedplaces is a chance to take a brief step into the past, to glimpse scenes that are frozen in time.

This #abandonedhouse is a relic of a bygone era, untouched and forgotten. It had been abandoned for years, and is filled with mementos of a life once lived. 

Inside are many personal belongings, set against 1970s wallpaper and décor.
