@1fb367ab the local Labour candidate was going door to door here the other day. He seems to be campaigning on the basis of "we're better than the Tories" and I just thought even if that were actually true, it would still be sad.

 @0c1a9324 absolutely! As someone who loves train travel I'll concede that it is extremely exhausting. Night trains would be better for those of us who can rest in that environment, and so are night ferries. Unfortunately, the former don't exist for the most part, and the latter are prohibitively expensive.

If they ever offer ferry ops from Scotland to NL/Germany again I'll probably be a regular.
