Any music artists out there interested in either flipping a track or creating a drop/ section on a premade track as a collaboration?
I have a few songs that I am willing to send out to other artists as a "cross promotional" opportunity!
I fall into the EDM category. I like to make future bass style music as well as downtempo bass style music. Check out my wavlake for a better idea!
I would love to have a feature on a track, or to even just collaborate on a track!
Message me with ideas or let me know if you want a track to flip/ extend!

I am a mixing engineer and have been trying to get more independent artists and musicians to use Nostr. This isnt just a space for bitcoiners, but starting out on Nostr, thats basically all that is talked about. I completely agree with you. We need to #grownostr because this is the future of social media in my opinion.

Going to be working on my personal album that represents the direction I am taking. I don't consider myself an "artist" but I have a creative side and I love sound design. So compiling an album of self synthesized sounds is something I just have to do!

Hey everyone!
I wanted to take a moment to share some tips and insights about mixing music. Whether you’re an artist or a producer, understanding the process can really help your tracks sound better! Here are a few key points to consider:
1. Balance is Key: Always make sure each element in your mix has its own space. Adjust the levels to create a balanced sound that feels cohesive.
2. Use EQ Wisely: Cutting frequencies can often make a track clearer than boosting. A little cut here and there can prevent muddiness and help instruments shine.
3. Dynamics: Compression can help keep your mix dynamic, but be careful not to overdo it. The goal is to enhance the song, not squash the life out of it!
4. Take Breaks: Your ears can get fatigued after a while, which can affect your decisions. Stepping away for a bit can help you come back with fresh ears!
If you have any questions on mixing, or need some one to mix your track for you, message me!

Compression on Vocals in Logic Pro -
Vocals are one of the most important elements of any song, and compression is key to ensuring they sit perfectly in the mix. Logic Pro provides multiple powerful compressor plugins, each with its own flavor!
Logic offers seven different compressor models, each simulating iconic hardware compressors. Here’s how to use them and what they bring to your vocal track:
Platinum Digital Compressor
Clean and transparent
Best For - Pop, acoustic, singer-songwriter, or anytime you want the vocals to sound natural without too much coloration.
This is a great go-to if you want a compressor that does its job without adding noticeable color. It maintains clarity, giving vocals a polished, professional feel without altering the tonal characteristics.
Studio VCA Compressor
Tight and controlled
Best For - Punchy vocals in rock, pop, or electronic music where you need precision and control.
Known for its ability to clamp down on dynamics while still allowing vocals to punch through the mix, the VCA is excellent for controlling aggressive vocal performances.
Studio FET Compressor
Bright and aggressive
Best For - Rock, rap, or any genre where you want the vocals to have attitude and grit.
Modeled after the famous 1176 compressor, the FET adds energy and excitement to vocals. It works great for taming dynamic vocals while also giving them some bite.
Vintage VCA Compressor
Smooth and warm
Best For - Pop, soul, or R&B vocals where you want smoothness and a bit of color.
This model is based on the famous SSL bus compressor and is known for adding a touch of warmth and glue to your vocals.
Vintage FET Compressor
Fat and punchy
Best For - Vocals that need to stand out in busy, dense mixes like rock or electronic music.
This vintage model delivers a punchier tone compared to the modern FET, while still controlling the dynamics effectively. It adds weight and thickness to the vocals.
Vintage Opto Compressor
Smooth and slow
Best For - Ballads, jazz, or genres where you want a more laid-back, natural vocal sound.
This model mimics the LA-2A, which is famous for its slow, gentle compression. It’s ideal for controlling vocal dynamics subtly while adding warmth.
Classic VCA Compressor
Punchy with color
Best For - Any genre where you want the vocals to have a vintage, analog feel.
The classic VCA is a more colorful and punchy version of the Studio VCA, often used in rock or vintage-sounding pop. It gives vocals a thick, punchy quality.
General Compression Tips for Vocals
Lower the threshold until you see about 3-5 dB of gain reduction during the loudest parts.
For vocals, a ratio between 2:1 and 4:1 is typical, depending on how dynamic the performance is.
Faster attack times (1-10ms) work well for catching peaks quickly, while slower attacks (10-30ms) can let more of the initial transient through, which is good for a more natural sound.
Start with a medium release and adjust based on the vocal’s natural rhythm. A fast release will bring back the quiet parts sooner, adding energy, while a slower release will smooth things out.
Make sure you LISTEN to the audio and adjust your settings accordingly.
ONE VOCAL WILL USE THE EXACT SAME SETTINGS AS ANOTHER!!!
If you need help with mixing your track or would like a professional ear on your vocal chain, feel free to check out my online portfolio, and reach out! first song is mixed for free, always!
Someone help me out! Im still getting used to nostr and all of the "apps" it has.
I mainly use primal and I wanted to know if it would be beneficial to use any other apps as well? Or will the things I post about on primal be seen on other apps as I have posted them on primal?
Asking for a friend.
It's me.
Im the friend.
Thanks!
Hey everyone! I’ve been diving deep into the world of podcasting lately, and I’m loving every minute of it! There’s something truly special about helping creators bring their stories and ideas to life.
One thing I’ve learned is that editing can really make a difference in the overall quality and flow of a podcast. It’s fascinating how a little bit of polishing can enhance the listener experience—whether it’s trimming the fluff, adding some sweet intro music, or balancing sound levels to keep everything clear.
I’ve been experimenting with different editing techniques and mastering processes, and I’d love to hear how you all approach your podcasts! What do you think makes a podcast sound great? Any tips or experiences you’d like to share? Let’s chat!

Hey everyone! Let’s talk mics—specifically, the difference between condenser and dynamic mics. Knowing which one to use can totally change your audio game!
Condenser Mics: (Audio Technica AT2020)
- Super Sensitive: They pick up all the details, which is awesome for vocals and acoustic stuff.
- Wide Range: Great for studio recordings.
- Needs Power: These guys require phantom power, so make sure your gear can handle it!
When to Use: Perfect for studio work, podcasts, and anything where clarity is key.
Dynamic Mics: (Shure SM58)
- Tough and Ready: Built to handle loud sounds—ideal for live shows.
- Less Background Noise: Great at cutting out unwanted sounds.
- No Phantom Power Needed: Super easy to set up!
When to Use: Best for live gigs, amplifying instruments, and noisy environments.
Recording at home? Go with a condenser. Performing live? Grab a dynamic!
What’s your go-to mic? Let’s hear it!
they aren't part of the pack I have, no. But I do have another one in the works that will feature sounds like this! you can private message me your email and I'll send you a copy of the reactive pack!
Got to add a new track to my mixing portfolio from the Cambridge library!

🎶 Stems vs. Tracks: What’s the Difference? 🎶
Confused about stems and tracks? Understanding the difference can drastically improve the quality of your mix!
**Tracks** = Individual instrument or audio files on separate channels.
**Stems** = Groups of instruments or “parts” combined into a single audio file.
For example, when a mixing engineer asks for a *drums stem*, they’re looking for one audio file with all the drum elements combined. But if they request *drum tracks*, you’ll need to export each drum element separately and send them in a folder.
Why Does This Matter?
Mixing tracks individually gives your engineer much more control. For instance, if the snare’s too loud relative to the kick, adjusting the entire drums stem won’t fix that balance. Also, processing on a stem applies to every element in it, so individual tracks are always preferred!
Best Practices for Sending Files
When preparing files, make sure to include:
1. A full mix of all tracks on one audio channel.
2. Stems for each instrument group (e.g., drums, guitars, vocals).
3. Each individual track bounced separately.
Pro tip: An organized session with clearly labeled tracks makes life easier for your mixing engineer!

I mixed a really nice track today! Got to use some new plugins (free to use) for metering.
I primarily use Logic to mix with stock logic plugins for metering, but the stereo tool from Flux is really great! It lets you create a preset with custom settings that you can then compare back and forth with. Really nice!
Span from Voxengo is a must have as well. Customizable metering is essential to your workflow.
If you want to check out the completed track, as well as other projects I have worked on, go to my online portfolio wix page at

That'a a big reason I like Logic. I'll put the mixer on my Ipad, have my session on a big monitor and use my laptop for all of my plug ins and meters. Everything has a place!
I'm gonna have to try Decibel!

Looking for independent music creators to test out DAW templates and synth presets that I have created.
I am looking for feedback as well as maybe collaborating on a music theory/ production essentials course for independent artists.
#music artists on nostr,
How many would be interested in session templates for Logic Pro
Ableton, and Pro Tools?
Templates are great for jumping right into a project without getting held up doing all the busy work like setting busses and effects.
I have created custom session templates for different genres of music, as well as for mixing and for mastering.
These session templates will be free to anyone who wants them, and will be available on my web bio very soon!
Please share this note and send it to any artist you know!

I have to respectfully disagree with you here. I say this as I am not a fan of either rapper, but art is what you make it. Creating something that doesn't resonate with everyone, or even anyone for that matter, doesn't make you not an artist. An artist is someone who uses a creative output to express their beliefs, morals, thoughts, life experiences, etc. You don't have to be respected or even talented to be an artist, you only have to be genuine to yourself and the content you create will be your art.
Im making this post to try and get seen by more music artists, producers, sound designers, etc.
If you are an independent artist, follow me, send me a message with a link to your #wavlake or #soundcloud or #spotify, etc. and I'll follow back and we can get in touch about #music related things!
Lets #V4V and help each other become better individuals and more talented artists!

Whats up #nostr. Full Sail University gave me an awesome opportunity to create from scratch some sounds for a few video game assets. Take a look!
https://m.primal.net/IEUB.mp4
Recently I started arranging a track in Ableton to learn the features and controls. I am typically using Logic to produce and Pro Tools to mix and master, but I made a short track from composition to master using Ableton alone.
I've been creating instrument presets in synths like Serum and Vital and had an opportunity to put the sounds to good use in this track!
Keep a look out for the drop on #wavlake tonight!
P.S. It will be under a new artist name 😉
