@c09f86d3 should a writer do anything? I think a pseudonym is either a device to protect the writer (e.g. in a dictatorship) or part of the creative process. It can be a very effective device and part of the story (see Snicket, Lemony) or irony (Pseudonymous Bosch). You may be too young or too British to remember the Anonymous who wrote a book about Bill Clinton, but that choice made the book much more effective. And Deep Throat and the Pentagon Papers.
