“Without true Christians loving one another the world cannot be expected to listen, even when we give proper answers. Let us be careful, indeed, to spend a lifetime studying to give honest answers. But after we have done our best to communicate to a lost world, still we must never forget that the final apologetic which Jesus gives is the observable love of true Christians for true Christians.”
- Francis Schaeffer

To be a disciple of Jesus is to be a person who is learning and teaching others to be WITH Jesus, be LIKE Jesus, and DO what Jesus did.

"Frequent indecision, constant concession, third-wayism, and nuance are not masculine traits. Men should be bold, decisive, convicted, principled, and indomitable. If a man is these things he will be called stubborn, mean, arrogant, and brash; but remember, it’s these kind of men who change the world.
“Bold hearted men will always be called mean spirited by cowards.” Charles Spurgeon
“Desperate times call for faithful men, and not for the careful men. The careful men come later, and write the biographies of the faithful men, lauding them for their courage.” Doug Wilson"

For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

“There are only two kinds of people in the end: those who say to God, “Thy will be done,” and those to whom God says, in the end, “Thy will be done.”
- C.S. Lewis - The Great Divorce
"The whole modern world has divided itself into Conservatives and Progressives. The business of Progressives is to go on making mistakes. The business of the Conservatives is to prevent the mistakes being corrected."

"One skill a man must develop is the ability to maintain a frame of self-control in face of emotional, distraught, or angry people.
Be a wall they can run into without knocking you over.
If anyone ca wasn make you mirror their emotional state, you’re not much use as a leader.
This is a skill that is essential to just about every normal vocation a man might have:
As a husband, he can't be ruled by his wife's emotions.
He needs to be able to live with her with understanding, gentleness, tenderness, and strength. She needs him to be a rock, not jello.
As a father, he can't be ruled by his children's emotions.
They need him to be the emotional center of the home. He is the gravity that everyone should orbit around—a strong, jovial, kind presence, firm in discipline, quick to help, proactive in leading.
In his vocation, he must maintain emotional frame.
Whether a solo tradesman, entrepreneur, manager, director, president, CEO, or entry-level guy at the bottom rung, great success will require emotional stability. Nobody wants to work with or for a guy who is easily provoked.
Pastors certainly can't be ruled by congregants' emotions.
You can't effectively shepherd a flock if you're led by the bellwether of their momentary feelings. You have to say, "There's green pasture. Let's go there together." An easily provoked or manipulated pastor will fail."

My son, if your heart is wise, my heart too will be glad. My inmost being will exult when your lips speak what is right.

One of the other most significant lies of the Devil is that sexual sin is the unforgivable sin. Satan says, it’s too late. Nothing can be done. But Scripture says, “Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God” (1 Cor. 6:9-10).

-Thomas Jefferson to Peter Carr
May our hearts be freed from sparingness and filled with bountiful generosity, reflecting the lavish generosity of our God. And as we go, may we live out the gospel truth that we are free to give, because of the immeasurable generosity of our God in Jesus our Lord.
“The most critical need of the church at this moment is men, bold men, free men. The church must seek, in prayer and much humility, the coming again of men made of the stuff of which prophets and martyrs are made.”
-A.W. Tozer
“He who would understand the nature of true of holiness, must know that the Christian is a man of war (1 Timothy 6:12). If we would be holy, we must fight.”
