send all your traffic using mullvad by running a wireguard client at the router level.  

 run a pfsense router. mullvad has a pretty good guide about how to set a wireguard client on pfsense. but yeah, never run any torrenting on clearnet. econoalchemist has a pretty good guide on pfsense too 

 what VPN protocol are you using? I had openvpn and was getting throttled to 2mbps from 1gbps. with wireguard the loss is negligible 

 you do split tunneling at the router level with pfsense  

 the service didn't use anyone's private keys.
