Reached the part of the night where I am either sweating myself into a wet bed or shivering. There's no middle ground.
Wake, snot drains to other nostril, flip, coughing fit, temperature madness, asleep, repeat.
1. Ban, or tax into oblivion, Airbnb.
2. Nationalize those firms that are buying up all the rental units in the country.
3. Punitively fine any company that requires on site workers if it is possible for workers to be remote.
4. Writs of Outlawry on government lobbyists. We don't have to actively jail them or anything, but if we want to dismember a lobbyist in front of their kids or something it should be legal.
@40cd5708 Sometimes the unhoused have some of the best signage ever.
One of the fun things in my city is that they are often fluently bilingual, in the common languages of the region, in ways that "normal" citizens are not.
And it's amazing.
As a child of the 80s, the things about modern society that I am most impressed by are:
1. How much better the average civilian grade Dewar Flask is.
2. Ditto for flashlights.
3. That people are so stupid that they took the Satanic Panic and rebranded it, word for word, as QAnon, and it became the rage all over again.
Given that it's just renamed blood libel, and people love that antisemitism, I should not be surprised.
@872ab8e1 CDC proves once again that even a broken clock can be right twice a day.
I am surprised a hospital association or a funeral industry group didn't bribe the #CDC into saying we don't need vaccines at all, to drive up hospital price gouging.
Like the kind of bribes they obviously got from the airlines in previous years.
Cooking brings me no joy in this world at all. Any time I prepare something, I focus on the cleanup that will need to be done afterward.
My brain screams danger danger this isn't going to be worth it.
If I push those thoughts out of my head and do it anyway, I am universally disappointed that my brain's warning will always turn out to right.
It wasn't worth doing.
I can see for a holiday or a special occasion or something.
But the food isn't worth the cleanup.
