Good morning ☕️ yeah I’ve been muting them whenever I even see one pop up in someone else’s replies… I could do the keyword mute but then I couldn’t enjoy the GM protocol in it’s glorious splendor
Twitter is a platform… all your data, followers, and follows are confined to the platform. The client you are accessing Nostr on is just a tool to read and write to the protocol layer, so if at any point you want to use another client (primal, iris, snort, fountain, zapstream, etc.) all your data, follows, followers, etc go with you. As a common user that was banned from a platform for following a page that was recommended to me by the platform, losing all my data, followers, and follows of 8 years; I like being somewhere that it can’t be taken from me.
Hello and welcome to nostr. If you have questions you can always hashtag asknostr and people will try to help. Nostr is like what the internet was in ‘92, you are pretty much in the sandbox shoulder to shoulder with the developers which is cool because, if you think of an awesome new feature or program that you’d like to see, someone might jump right on it and build it. What I suggest is use the hashtags (good starts are grownostr or artstr or gardenstr) and find some cool stuff you like, follow the weirdos that post it, comment on the cool posts, and post cool stuff that you like as well and people will start following you. Once you sorta get the hang of the platform or client you are using now, then check out something new whether it’s another social media clone like primal or damus, or you go check out some of the video and steaming clients like zapstream or nostrnests or flare… there is a good list of most the current nostr clients at https://nostrapps.com
Howdy, I’ve heard talk of lists being tested on some clients, not sure if there is anything out of TestFlight or sandbox yet, but mostly so far we have been following hashtags… as far as health noting nostriches, I would ask the question and then tag it with hashtag asknostr
Hello and welcome to nostr, just follow people that post cool stuff, post your own cool stuff, and reply on posts that feature cool stuff, and you will have a following
In the last two years I’ve watched the city I work in become a pit… I don’t even know where all the homeless are coming from that keep making camps… there isn’t a lot of vacant houses and they keep building more and more apartments so some one is renting them
WOW… dipped over to global for a minute just to see if anything is sparking for me… I don’t know if there is some client chat that is signing everything to kind 1 or if the spam bots are just throwing one liners out there that make no sense #global
Good morning you awesome #nostriches and happy #coffeecain to you. I hope your coffee is better than mine. I had a tooth pulled yesterday and they told me my coffee has to be room temperature or colder… ice cubes take away so much of the taste 😐… oh well at least I can eat solids again today 🤣 Hope you all have a great day #gm #plebchain https://image.nostr.build/d556fa382897538c89192f53d5952c650902490f3448345d7e8cb10726254c53.jpg
Depends on the client you are using, some of the social media clients like damus, primal, and snort are some what Twitter clones, but then you have picstr which feels like Instagram or Pinterest, there are long form blog clients, zap stream that’s like twitch, flare that is for videos, and so on, but the awesome thing about entering at the protocol level instead of the platform like legacy media, is that on nostr, you take all your content that you post on any client, and it goes with you to every client along with your follows and followers
Not to mention how many of the podcasts are already hosted on aws? Probably the majority of the US based podcasts are because… go figure, it’s cheaper to use a cloud based hosted domain than pay for a dedicated server by about 2000% and most podcasts make peanuts if they make anything at all.
