I think, be you, be unique is the way.
If you can do this like, comment stuff in a fun way, then do it.
If not, make something, that is fun, kind, awesome, that is you.
I would not call it a token. Cashu is the protocol.
So cashu is chaumian ecash protocol on bitcoin.
It works like having receipt of bitcoins that you store at a custodian. You can either put in more bitcoin and mint more ecash, or melt your ecash and get back your bitcoin. But this is done in a private way.
You could use an android with graphene os.
Then basically you use a custom privacy focused OS. And if you don't use google products on it, then you are not being monitored by either google or apple.
I think, if someone joins nostr, and stays on nostr:
They are willing to learn.
Probably learning curve shall be simplified, but I see this as a great bar to enter.

If I understand correctly, when you use a nsec bunker, only your bunker knows your nsec, and each logged in app, will get an own new keypair that it can use to make interactions on your behalf.
But this right can be withdrawn anytime simply.
So if your account is compromised, you can just delete the right of that keypair.
The only real danger is then, that the bunker itself gets compromised, and your real nsec leaks. From that, it is kind of impossible to recover.
So bunker does not solve fully the leak problem, but makes it so much better.
But if you think about it. With power comes responsibility.
#asknostr #grownostr #plebchain
I think you can add nsecs to bunkers, that were not generated there, but it won't have a parent key or so.
I think there are already some way to do airgapped signing, but not sure if it is already convenient.
But you need to keep in mind, that if you have to approve all actions, then it will be really bad UX for decrypting DMs e.g. Except if you can somehow bulk approve.
Amber (android) signer seems to do that btw. The bulking.
I think, buying products does not make you happy, only cause you joy.
But the sellers and society tries to convince us, that what we feel when we buy new pair of shoes is happiness.
But I think it is incorrect.
Happiness is generated inside. Joy is caused by external things.
Joy disappears, happiness stays.
Just my 2 cents.
Out of Context Spam Filtering
How about hiding by default comments that are out of context. Usually spam is fully out of context, or?
#asknostr #nostr #plebchain
Lol, if you put it this way.
I would call nostr a pseudo-anonym identity layer. But what else would you need?
Hmmm. Imagine you could identify yourself to webshops with just signing a http auth. No more phone auth, email auth, telling your cats name, etc. Just a simple signature.
But, raises the question of "identity leaks". How do you recover from such?
Why you might want to opt out from data collection?
1οΈβ£ Advertising
Advertising companies are middlemans, collecting data on users, to advertise to them their companies ads. They lock in users by having many companies, and lock in companies by having many users with advertisement profiles.
The more data is collected, the better your profile, easier to sell you things you don't need.
Usually these companies are offering free services in return for showing you ads. But the main issue is, they are earning money by selling you stuff, instead of making their free service better.
That is why, in most cases, after companies get big enough, and unexitable by locking their private and business customers in, they can start to decrease or just don't improve the quality of their service.
In such a case, they are only incentivized to milk you more, because where could you go?
2οΈβ£ Used against you
Your search history may reveal interesting things about you, when you search for something you did not understand, and by grabbing it out of context, it can be used against you.
E.g.: your bag beeps on an airport, and you look for, what these detectors beep for. Then voilΓ‘, grabbing this out of context, why did you look for this info? Do you want to carry something that could beep?
We can even hear stories, where you can get into trouble only by being connected to other bad people. E.g. buying a second hand phone, that was used by a criminal before. (Of course bad is from the perspective of people in control. This definition can also easily change. For the better or worse)
3οΈβ£ Stolen
Colleced data can also be stolen. If 1-1 company stores huge amount of information about you, it even makes it easier, because only they have to be hacked.
Stolen data can be used for identity theft (e.g.: applying for loan and make bad credit for the stolen identity), credit card copying. So basically to stole money with it.
4οΈβ£ Control you
Data collection is the basis of surveillance and control. If lot of your data is collected, it will be easier to predict your behaviour with a bigger accuracy. Therefore, it will be easier to control you.

I mean he did not define, the word "between". Like what is the definition of between. And if infite numbers are shaped as circle, between could be:
1 <------->10
Or
--->1 10 <---
I think it is the best to assume, that everyone knows your IP, your relays and your apps.
Because it is possible that it is logged. And coming from Murphy's law, it will be logged.
And just as an extra, even servers from which you load images are seeing your IP, and can log it.

True, I think both are necessary.
Without competition you get the zero quality government monopoly on things, that will never get better, because no incentives.
Does anyone have the same feeling with Proton VPNs? Like it is getting enshittified?

Hmmm, I think this is a really important lesson generally.
And this is why, we generally tend to learn from lessons we face ourselves, and not heard from others.
And also why privacy in general is a neglected thing.
Make nostr the new normal!
Make decentralited social media the new normal.
Make moving between social media clients easy the new normal.
LG! π₯π₯π»
Make privacy normal.
Make VPNs normal.
Make fake names normal.
Make privacy focused messengers normal.
Make 2nd phone numbers normal.
Make encrypted emails normal.
Make less information shared normal.
Make private payments normal.

Good things in life are not easy.
If you want privacy, you have to fight for it. Those who takes advantage of the lack or your privacy will also do the same.
They do, and? Do you need to use most websites?
It is not easy. But selling your private data is lucrative, so don't expect to get it back easily in my opinion.
Sorry, definitely, you are both right, but both of you sounded like who complain. But maybe you had a different intention.
We have hardship definitely. Cloudflare is one big centralizing bad force, that shall be slowly replaced with something else.
But I hope, these negative looking problems are not puting you back to act for your privacy and your freedom.
We shall not give up at the first hardship.
Let's go! π₯π₯π»

That is enshittification in my opinion of Proton.
VPNs will be slower for sure. Because you have added route to your browsing to mask your IP.
Also you will get more captcha for sure.
I think that will only change, if VPN usage is normal, and masses will move from a site that is shitty.
> But It makes no sense that the free proton servers are faster than the paid proton servers.
This is enshittification. When companies are decreasing value for more profit. Might not be the case, but smells like it.
> thatβs different from Blacklisted.
Definitely. I think I have not faced only with Tor, the blacklist issue. But I guess it is matter of time then.
You don't need haskell for it.
You can use it in any programming language, you just have to host the cli with it as well.
Not too complicated, and you get a private solution.
I already did it in python.
