At some point, the search results in the Apple App Store stopped correlating with the search terms for certain apps. I believe that’s what @b92dcc07 means by “enshittification.”

It blows me away that I can type in a search term, and the App Store recognizes it, and even auto-completes it for me, but then shows me dozens or hundreds of apps that don’t match my term. 🤔

@e4576eea This article is now dated, but so understand it’s still the case: wage theft is a bigger problem in the US than other forms of theft.

@c53d74b8 I think it's easier to tell a sprawling, multi-locale story in novel-form than on TV.

The thing about novels is… You can put them down. You can turn back a few pages. You can look at the character appendix. You can look at maps.

With streaming TV, I guess you can pause and look at the casting info overlay, but it's not the same.

@c53d74b8 Read the books. Watched S1. Bounced off S2 pretty fast. The departures from the books are so huge (though sometimes interesting) that I don’t feel as if I’m even watching WoT. The casting is pretty great, the acting’s pretty great, the production values are high, but the writing is so-so and the pacing is ugh. Most fans of the book will admit that the middle books drag, but that’s mostly because there are so many characters in so many places. Which the TV series decided to emulate.
