Asked for tomorrow morning off work so I can do things. Problem is that I can work the first few hours then a couple of hours off to do shit then back in the afternoon.
Presenteism from 10-2 is bullshit as long as the work gets done, especially in my line of work when there's no meetings that need to be done.
Well that was odd. Met a girl today. 15 years ago she used to call me Poo Poo Head. Now she's 18 and out drinking. Haven't seen her in the in-between times.
Been a very odd old evening.
I was talking with her mum on the bus. She asked me where I lived now. I told her and she said I used to live down there with X. She hadn't realised I'd got on the bus with X so was quite surprised when I turned to X and asked him if that was true. It had been so long ago they didn't recognise each other. X happens to be GW8ASD if you know him.
That site said free shipping on orders over £60 on the top. If you read the delivery details page it was actually on orders over £75.
I wasn't going to argue the toss with them but I selected free delivery anyway for my £62.75 order and they honoured it.
Urgh. Had a message off my dearly beloved that she could see what I put on what was a private facebook group. This isn't the first time I've seen this so be careful what you put on it. Luckily for me it wasn't particularly embarrassing.
Some old private Facebook groups appear to have turned public. This isn't good.
@760d5ffd Ecotricity constantly fuck up my online bills with weird numbers, and double take when I pay online. I'm sick to death of them. I realise you're in Stroud...
Dealing with a bloke who doesn't realise that "when the p*ki fucker at the shop said my tablet was all working" isn't responsible for knowing his Facebook or email passwords.
I'm trying to get him into his account but I'm tempted to shove his tablet in the wrong hole.
Those who remember me from the other site may remember that I save nice vacuum capacitors from scrap that would work well for Magloops.
I've just had another couple come into my possession that should be available once I've been able to build something to test for vacuum leakage on them.
I also have 10kV 1mA bricks that we save from scrap that I can use for this. We have rather a lot of them and we don't know what to do with them all. Got some 20kV ones too. They scare me more. Arc fault testing was spicy.
Actually, what voltage rating do people need? These are 9kV working, 15kV peak. They may work for some magloop designs even if the vacuum has popped. I have plenty of those.
Been a while since I've looked at it all.
Wife has asked for an iPad for her birthday. I did my best Edward Tattsyrup voice - "This is an Android house for Android people. There'll be no Apple products here".
Ok, I've calmed down now. As much as I hate people, my experience in life is that most people are decent, at least in my circle of things. I haven't physically met many people who infuriate me. Oddly they only seem to do it on the Internet.
I spent most of my childhood around people with disabilities. My brother has CP. How, in 2023 are we still struggling to get access for people into buildings? I just popped to a shop and a wheelchair user was struggling to get into the door because of the door frame giving a significant step. I asked if they needed help. That was confirmed so I helped them into the shop. This shouldn't be a thing now in modern buildings.
@1056510e The chilli in that would certainly help sweat things out. I prefer more flavourful ones these days rather than hot. For some reason my body has developed a rather violent reaction to chilli over the last few years.
Bit rough this morning but now other than a bit of gunk I feel ok. It's as if my body always beats the fuck out of infections within 48 hours. Every time. Except for long COVID, let's not talk about that.
Has there ever been a proper study into the effect of curry on respiratory infections? It's the first thing I reach for but I can't come to a conclusion just based on a data set of me alone.
Lamb Saagwala with Keema Naan btw. It was delicious. And £ouchy but I didn't feel up to cooking one myself.
@5879ad81 I have a realistic border collie on the chair by my bed. Someone had it in a pub and I bought it off them for a fiver. I have no idea what was going through my head at the time other than 4% Best Bitter but I don't regret that purchase.
@1056510e They paid it off years ago and there's no other charges on the property.
I'm wondering if it's something to do with the incoming installation of some NHS equipment but that seems a bit much.
I've alerted him anyway and he can deal with it. He's far from senile.
@2eea00d0 I didn't have any pastry cutters so I used a wine glass. The stem shattered off as I was pushing down and went straight between my index and middle fingers.
