A charming Red-spotted orbweaver resting on an unopened flower bud. These are quite common in Northern VA but I always enjoy finding them. They are quite variable  in looks and confuse me occasionally by not having their namesake red spots.

 This is a cobweb spider from Tatama Cloud Forest in #Colombia. It is in the genus Chrysso which are known for their flashy colors. Some can even change color as a warning mechanism. Sorry about the blurriness. I've only been practicing photography for 20 years...

I haven't posted for a while again. Life is crazy. So here's a fly I know nothing about. My guess is it's a hoverfly in the genus Quichuana (rat tailed maggot fly) but don't really know. I wonder if it is mimicking a Ceoloxys bee. It even has the hairy eyes.

 Not exactly sure who this is, but I believe it's an orbweaver spider (Larinia sp.?). This was taken just after sunset and it was on a bird of paradise leaf I believe.
