Haven’t seen second one yet but I would summarize it as a relatively good adaptation of the book to film, but it still suffers from the usual big movie problems of okay acting and over dramatization. 

It’s watchable and fun enough for me, but I probably wouldn’t watch it again 

 I was going to read this with my eyes, but then I checked out the preview on audible and @TheGuySwann sounded so good that I may just have to “read” it with my ears now
